Project!

Its that time of year again... School time. I am not going to remind you how I feel about it because I have purposed to find a new attitude regarding the whole home-schooling thing. I plan to get a little help from an unlikely source-- MY STORAGE ROOM.

As I was pondering the new school year and thinking of what I can do different to improve the outlook on my bleak September, a thought came to me. I need a school room! Somewhere to go with a set routine that would help hinder distractions on everyones part. I thought I could go to our church in Varaždin and use one of the Sunday school rooms, but Scott said no. I dont have a spare bedroom so I set my sights on our storage room. Scott said no. (He is really good at that).

Tonight after our bike ride as we were putting our bikes away -in the storage room- I asked him to bear with me for a moment while I pleaded my case. I explained to him what I was thinking and how I planned to do everything and I laid it all out before him (because I spent a lot of time thinking about it). Anyway after I got done the defense rested and I stood patiently awaiting the judges decision- which I just knew was going to be homeschooling at the kitchen table with no chance of parole. To my disbelief he said yes! I was so excited I started pulling stuff off the shelves right then and there!

Anyway I have a lot of work to do this week to get ready for next week. I am going to move everything to the attic and hang the bikes on the wall in the front part of our storage room. I am going to clean the windows and sweep and mop and hang a map or something on the wall to make it look schoolish. I am going to move the kids desks down there and my small desk for me. I am going to put my box of school supplies and all the other school things down there on the shelves. Best of all I am going to have a great year!

So, as you can see I have my work cut out for me! I am so excited about it though and thats all the motivation I need to get it done so check back in a few days to see finished product!!

How exciting!! I cannot wait to see the finished project. I do know that having a designated school "room" helps in the afternoons when you are done, you get to leave! Damara
